Recorded out a window of a suburban house. E. carolinus is the stuttering trill that periodically slows down significantly. Rarely seen, this small but abundant species calls mostly at night, though also during the day in fall, and is one of the last to be heard in November. The usual vernacular name is "Carolina Ground-Cricket".
