Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:

Named in reference of the type locality’s proximity to the Stringfellow Acid Pits, declared in the early 1980s as California’s most toxic Superfund. The area is currently managed by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, which estimates that the cleanup effort will take approximately 500 years.
