Gender, form, and etymology

Etymology:

Dedicated to Maria Jose de Souza-Lopes of the Department of Genetics, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, a tireless researcher on the caryology of Brazilian acridids, who was the organizer of many field trips in which this species and others from the Brazilian Northeast were discovered. She was the first to observe the differences between this species and R. nordestinum and to realize that it could be a different species.
