Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
From the Ancient Greek πτερόν (‘pterón’), ‘wing’. Pteronemobius means ‘winged Nemobius’. In contrast to the wingless genus Nemobius Serville, 1838, Pteronemobius often have hindwings and are able to fly.
