Gender, form, and etymology

Etymology:

The epithet curupira comes from the Brazilian Tupi-guarani indigenous language, curu [min] (boy) + pira (body) and means “boy’s body”, in reference to the legend of Curupira, a mythological figure that belongs to Brazilian folklore, known as the protector of the fauna and flora.
