Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
The species is named after its collector, the Dutch entomologist Lambertus Johannes Toxopeus (1894–1951). He took part in the 1938-1939 Richard Archbold expedition to New Guinea, where he collected a vast amount of Ophiotettix specimens
