Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
Named after the German biologist Tom Kirschey, the authors' friend and well-known researcher of the Oriental region, who currently serves as the head of the International Peatlands and Southeast Asia Programme at NABU (Naturschutzbund Deutschland).
