Etymology:

From Carrasco + tettix, grasshopper. Dedicated to the Peruvian entomologist Dr. Francisco Carrasco-Zamora, who by his own studies and by his generous help to every entomologist who has visited the Department of Cusco, has greatly contributed to the knowledge of the local insect fauna.
