Etymology:

In appreciation of the studies of the authors' friend E. R. Buckell of the Division of Entomology of the Department of Agriculture of Canada, who has added materially to the knowledge of the Orthoptera of British Colombia, discovered the type species of the genus, and also placed on record most of the field observations which have been made of it.
