Etymology:

In honor of the indigenous Sikuani or Guahibo people, who live in the Orinoco plains, between the rivers Guaviare, Meta and Arauca, in the Colombian departments of Vichada, Meta, Arauca, Guaviare and Guainía, as well as in Venezuela to the west of the states of Amazonas, Bolívar and south of Apure.
