Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
The generic epithet is an arbitrary combination of letters, which mixes the Spanish word ''rombo'' (meaning "rhomb" and alluding to tegmina shape) with the final syllables of Copiphora Serville, 1831 (its putative closest relative).
