Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
Ubatuba comes from the Tupi indigenous language, u’ubá (cana-de-flecha: type of grass used to make arrows) + tyba (grouping) and means “arrow grass grouping”, the name given to the municipality of São Paulo where the holotype was collected.
