Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:
The epithet uirapuru (wyra + purú) comes from the Brazilian indigenous language Tupi and is the popular name given to a group of Amazonian birds from the Troglodytidae, iconic for their complex song and therefore present in several Amazonian legends.
