Gender, form, and etymology
Etymology:

Tibaracón is a Taino word for the accumulation of sand at the mouth of major rivers in Baracoa, forcing the water flow to deviate from its course and create a small sand bank along the coast. It is a traditional symbol of Baracoa, where the species was found.
