Scrutiny

Included into Sphingonotus azurescens group by Husemann et al. 2013 and Husemann et al. 2014. This group is under subgenus Neosphingonotus Benediktov 1998, a name that would then probably be replaced by the older name Pseudosphingonotus Shumakov 1963, of which savignyi is the type species, and which is currently a synonym under subgenus Sphingonotus.
