Gender, form, and etymology

Etymology:

The prefix is derived from the gnome, the diminutive hairy forest creatures of folklore, referring to the stocky shape and hairy fastigium of these forest-dwelling crickets. Suffix -inthus, referring to a Lebinthina genus.
